Moon Karts Earnings Overview

Moon Karts calculates Skill, Time, NFT quality, and Governance tokens staked to determine rewards earned. Skillful players who win many races while utilizing high quality cards and who stake COLONY governance tokens will earn the most tokens out of all players. Furthermore, players who lack even just one factor of skill, time, NFT quaility, or staked governance tokens will find that they lag behind. Essentially, to maximize your earnings you must be good at the game, spend time playing it, use high quality NFTs as part of your load-out, and stake governance tokens.

Reward System

The Moon Karts ecosystem is allotted a number of COLONY tokens from Arcade Colony. For Moon Karts, we are distributing a fixed supply of tokens each day, with a percentage of these assigned to various pools of token.

The COLONY reward tokens will be distributed as follows:

  • 40% distributed to the Orbitals Pool

  • 25% distributed to the Ranking Pool

  • 10% allotted to the COLONY tokens that are found on the race track

  • 5% to the Referral Pool

  • 20% towards the Seasonal Pool

Seasonal Rewards Pool

In the dynamic and competitive world of Moon Karts, the Seasonal Rewards Pool stands out as a pivotal element of the game's economy, designed to incentivize consistent excellence and strategic gameplay over a 10-day cycle. This pool garners its potency from a daily allocation of 20% of the total COLONY token rewards, creating a substantial cumulative bounty every ten days.

Players earn their share of this pool based on their performance and positioning in the game's leaderboards, with the system taking precise snapshots of these rankings at the end of each cycle. This methodology ensures a fair and proportional distribution of tokens, rewarding players not just for their momentary triumphs but for their sustained prowess and strategy over the entire season. The Seasonal Rewards Pool thus offers a distinct avenue for players to maximize their earnings, differentiating itself from the daily rewards by focusing on longer-term performance and consistency. This feature not only adds depth to the game's economic model but also encourages continuous engagement and skill development among the players, making each season a thrilling journey of strategic gaming and rewarding persistence.

Earning through Racing

There are three separate ways to earn from racing:

  1. Picking up COLONY directly on the track AND winning the race with the tokens still in your inventory. If you lose the tokens before finishing, or if you lose the race, then you do not earn these COLONY tokens.

  2. By participating in races, you get a skill-based ELO ranking. The skill-based rankings has a daily and seasonal leaderboard that rewards players for their performance. COLONY distributions are proportional to the player's position on the leaderboards. This mechanism is designed to provide rewards to the best racers amongst all the players.

  3. By collecting Orbitals on the racetrack, winning a race, and finishing with them, you earn Orbitals. These Orbitals are a separate point-system with their own daily and seasonal leaderboard, which distributes COLONY tokens proportional to a player's position on each respective leaderboard. Players get a multiplier on the number of Orbitals they can earn each race depending on the cards used in the race. In other words, if you have a great kart, great driver, and great parts in play, you stand to earn more Orbitals than those players without. This mechanism is designed to provide more rewards to big spenders in the game.

Alternative Earning: Referral Program

In Moon Karts, in the Settings, players will have an invite code (a unique URL) that they can share with friends or on social media, or with their audience if they're a content creator. When a new player uses this link to join Moon Karts and sign-up to play, and after they spend $20 or more in the store, then it counts as 1 point in the Referrals Pool. As you referred players continue to spend in the game, you will get an additional point for every $20 they spend.

Referrals Pool Distribution

Similar to the pools of tokens distributed for Rankings and Orbitals, this pool is used to distribute tokens for those that bring in new paying users. This 5% of the token allocation will be distributed proportional to the number of points each referrer has earned that day. For example, if there are only three valid referrals in one given day, and Alice has one referral, and Bob has two, then Alice takes one-third of the 5% of the pool and Bob takes two-thirds of the 5%

Currency Requirements

Referral Points are only accrued when referred players spend fiat currency (i.e., using their credit card) or any non-Arcade Colony tokens. If the referred player spends COLONY or SCRIPT, then these purchases do not qualify for earning any points in the Referral Pools.

Referral Daily Cap

An individual account can never receive more than 0.5% of the total Rewards Pool, or more than 10% of the Referral Pool, per day. This cap is to restrict one person from getting an excessive amount of tokens for a small amount of referrals.

If there are unclaimed tokens in the Referral Pool at the end of each day, then these will rollover to the next day, incentivizing more and more referrals as the pool grows.

Moon Domes

In future, we plan to allow players to own a "Moon Dome," which will essentially be a stadium or racetrack whereby any race that happens in your Moon Dome distributes 10% of the tokens earned in any given race to the owner of the Moon Dome.
