Power Ups
Racers can equip a variety of power-up cards to give themselves in-game abilities to help themselves win and help defeat their fellow competitors. Power-Ups are special cards that can be accumulated by opening packs and deployed in your racing kits.
Below is an overview of each power-up available at launch.
Lunar Glide
The Lunar Glide power-up allows players to strategically deploy a slippery hazard on the track. When activated, the kart releases a trail of oil behind it, causing other players to lose control and slip upon contact. This power-up is particularly useful for hindering opponents and causing them to spin out, creating chaos in the race. Skilled players can strategically place the Lunar Glide in corners or narrow sections to maximize its effectiveness.
Celestial Thrust
The Celestial Thrust power-up grants players a temporary burst of speed, propelling their kart forward with incredible velocity. When activated, the kart accelerates rapidly for a short duration, allowing players to overtake opponents or catch up to the leading pack. Effective timing and execution are crucial to maximize the benefits of the Celestial Thrust power-up. Skilled players can use it strategically on straightaways or critical sections of the track to gain a significant advantage.
Moonfire Missile
The Moonfire Missile power-up equips the player's kart with a powerful rocket projectile. When activated, players can lock onto a target and fire a rocket to hit and disable opponents. The rocket travels quickly and can cause significant damage upon impact. Skilled players must aim accurately and time their shots to eliminate competitors or disrupt their progress. The Moonfire Missile power-up adds an element of strategy and precision to the gameplay, rewarding players who can effectively use it to their advantage.
Cosmic Disruptor
The Cosmic Disruptor power-up emits a powerful electromagnetic pulse that temporarily disables nearby opponents' karts. When activated, the Cosmic Disruptor creates a shockwave that disrupts the electronics of nearby vehicles, causing them to lose control or slow down. Skilled players can strategically use the Cosmic Disruptor to disable opponents at critical moments, such as during a tight corner or just before a crucial overtaking opportunity. Timing and positioning are essential to make the most of the Cosmic Disruptor power-up and gain a competitive edge.
Lunar Bolt
The Lunar Bolt power-up summons a bolt of lightning that targets and strikes a specific opponent's kart, temporarily disabling it. When activated, a lightning bolt descends from the sky and hits the targeted kart, causing it to lose control and slow down. Skilled players can strategically choose their targets and time the activation of the Lunar Bolt power-up to disrupt opponents' progress or gain an advantage during intense racing moments.
Lunar Barrier
The Lunar Barrier power-up provides temporary invincibility and protection to the player's kart. When activated, a force field envelops the kart, making it immune to other power-ups and collisions for a short duration. The Lunar Barrier power-up is particularly useful for defending against attacks, such as the Moonfire Missile or Cosmic Disruptor, and maintaining momentum in the race. Skilled players must carefully time the activation of the Lunar Barrier to shield themselves from incoming threats or gain an advantage during critical moments.
