All playable assets in the game will be generated from cards. Every card in the game has four rarities, outlined below. Players can view their cards in-game in the "My Cards" section.
Common cards are the most basic and easily obtainable cards in the game. They provide standard attributes or abilities that are helpful in gameplay but may not offer significant advantages. Common cards are essential for building a foundation and starting point for players to develop their strategies and progress in the game.
Rare cards are less common and offer more unique and valuable attributes compared to common cards. They possess enhanced capabilities, special abilities, or additional features that give players an edge over opponents. Obtaining rare cards may require more effort, such as completing specific challenges, participating in advanced races, or purchasing higher-tier card packs.
Epic cards represent highly valuable and sought-after items in the game. They possess exceptional attributes, powerful abilities, or game-changing features that significantly impact gameplay. Obtaining epic cards is more challenging and often requires players to complete difficult tasks, conquer advanced levels, participate in exclusive events, or purchase even higher-tier card packs.
Legendary cards are the rarest and most prestigious cards in the game. They offer the highest level of power, unique abilities, or extraordinary attributes that can greatly influence gameplay outcomes. Acquiring legendary cards is a monumental achievement and may require players to overcome significant challenges, reach top ranks in competitive events, or engage in special in-game activities.
All cards, regardless of rarity, can be leveled up to enhance their performance. Similar to Splinterlands, players can combine cards (referred to in Moon Karts as "Merging") to level up, evolve, and/or unlock additional abilities for their cards.
Upgrading cards allows players to continuously improve their gameplay strategies, adapt to different challenges, and stay competitive in the game. In addition, having more rare and higher level cards can contribute to earning more in any given race.
A full overview of the card merging economics and performance modifiers will be unveiled closer to launch.
Similar to Splinterlands, all cards in Moon Karts are available in a much more scarce Gold Foil version that offers bonuses when playing and for which fewer cards are required to level up. The reward bonus from gold foil cards is stacked. So you can have multiple gold foil cards applied to your kart to maximize the reward.
When you open a pack, every card has a chance to turn into a gold foil card.
